Rooted in Care.
Guided by Play
Welcome to our Nest!
How our story began…
It started as a dream. A dream of inclusivity. A dream of a place that made you feel at home as soon as you walked through the doors. At Robyn’s Nest Early Learning Centre, we believe that every child is unique, competent, capable, and deserving of high quality care and education in their early years.
Being in the field of early childhood education for over 16 years, Robyn had first hand experience of the difference high quality care can make in a child’s life. This knowledge, combined with a passion for inclusive practices and play-based, interest -led learning, this dream became a reality in late 2026!
From the very beginning, our focus has been on building strong, meaningful relationships with children and families as we believe these relationships are the foundation of learning, and we wanted to build more than a childcare program- We wanted to build a community.
At Robyn’s Nest, every child is welcomed as they are, supported as they grow, and celebrated for who they are becoming.
Our Program Statement
Robyn’s Nest Early Learning Centre is committed to providing high quality and inclusive care to children, where each child will feel capable, competent, and valued. Our program is guided by How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014), and we use this framework as a guide when offering developmentally appropriate, play-based, and child-led experiences that encourage exploration and extend children’s learning. This framework outlines four foundations that children need to learn, grow and flourish, which are Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement, and Expression. These foundations are meaningfully embedded into our daily experiences and interactions and are an important resource when we are creating safe, welcoming, and engaging environments within our centre. Our learning spaces are also inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the natural world around us, reflecting a calm and child-centred approach. By bringing in natural elements and purposeful design, we aim to foster a sense of comfort, belonging, and peace—creating an environment where children feel secure, curious, and supported as they learn and grow
We recognize that children learn best when families and communities are actively involved. Our program encourages connections with the local community through field trips, visits from community helpers, and participation in age-appropriate community initiatives, including charitable and donation-based activities that foster empathy and social responsibility.
Families are viewed as valued partners in their child’s learning, and we maintain open and ongoing communication through monthly newsletters, regular updates, and family events. Robyn’s Nest Early Learning Centre maintains an open-door policy that welcomes families into the centre and classrooms, supporting collaboration, transparency, and a strong sense of belonging for children and their families.
Our educators are an integral part of our centre and are viewed as partners in learning alongside the children. They intentionally facilitate experiences that support children’s growth and development while letting the children lead the way. They are engaged with the children while also being keen observers. Through daily reflection, they continually examine their practice and strive to strengthen their programs through ongoing professional development and collaboration with other RECEs.
Our Vision
To establish a high-quality, play-based childcare centre that becomes a trusted and involved community partner. A centre that emphasizes natural, welcoming environments, child-led and interest-based curriculum and building secure, meaningful bonds between the educators, the children, and their families. Robyn’s Nest Early Learning centre will be a leading example of Emergent, play based learning in the Niagara Region.

Frequently Asked Questions
Past Families that we have worked with had this to say about our quality of care and commitment to Early Learning…
“Robyn is an amazing ECE!! She goes above and beyond for the children in her care. My son absolutely adored her. He is a high energy boy that LOVED anything hands on. Robyn created so many amazing and unique opportunities for this. One particular interest that she really explored with him was an ocean theme, with a large focus on sharks. Robyn dove in head first making this experience everything it could be. My son became incredibly creative, learning to draw with detail, write the different names of sharks, they also got to dissect a unique type of fish! Which was, to a 4 year old boy, the best day ever! Not only was Robyn an educator that gives the kids time and space to explore she in kind, caring, loving and supportive. She makes children feel safe , valued, seen and heard. I am so grateful that my son had her as his educator and person doing his childcare experience!!”

“Our boys adored Robyn. She was their source of comfort, encouragement, and fun — always smiling, always patient, and always teaching and guiding with care. We are so grateful for the role she played in their early years.”
-Ellen Downey
"I had the pleasure of meeting Robyn when I enrolled my girls in a daycare in Charlottetown Prince Edward Island. Robyn is hardworking and very passionate about caring for and educating young children. She is responsible and very loving. It was difficult for my girls to say good-bye to her when their time at daycare was through. I highly recommend Robyn!"
